nice multipurpose moisturizer Jun 09, 2008
By snurmi Both my husband and I use this moisturizer because it's not greasy, is unscented, doesn't burn my skin and has 30SPF. My skin is sensitive and some of things in other moisturizers, even by Neutrogena, sting when I put them on. My husband uses this to protect the top of his head from the sun; many sunscreens run when one perspires--this one doesn't. So we both use it and go through it fairly fast. My only complaint is the packaging is small--so I bought 2 tubes at once. The Amazon price is quite good--I've found it cheaper, but usually it retails for about $4-5 more than what I paid here. It's pricey for a sunscreen but not bad for a moisturizer with sunscreen.

will keep searching for my perfect moisturizer Mar 09, 2010

I have used this for about 3 weeks. I use once a day in the mornings. At the rate I am going I will go through 1 (1.7 fl oz) tube every 2 months.
pros -spf 30 -physical sunblock, not chemical -not greasy (I have oily skin so this is the big plus for me) -can't say it helped my acne, but it didn't increase my acne -dries very quickly -little bit of moisturizer, if your face just feels a little tight after cleaning this will help that -basically a sunblock with a little moisturizer in it -didn't cause a rash -very, very little smell(sunblock smell)
cons -turns my pale face paler (think thinner version of the sunblock lifeguards use on their nose) -must apply evenly or you see streaks, use a mirror (rubbed in a little extra on a dry patch of skin without looking and looked in the mirror at lunch and I could see a white circle where I applied it) -need to use a lot (about 3 pearls worth of product per application) -not enough moisturizer to help dry skin, especially if its peeling
I will keep looking for a better moisturizer. I used to have the near perfect moisturizer for my skin but it has been discontinued. Please bring back aveeno skin brightening daily moisturizer spf 15, but make it unscented if possible.

Keep looking..... Mar 08, 2009
By A. Boston I needed a good sunblock for my face year round, and this is not it. Though it smells nice, otherwise it was a disappointment.
I don't have oily skin, its pretty dry in the cheek/forehead area - but I figured oil-free isn't a bad idea and I looked for something that said it wouldn't clog pores. The largest downside to this stuff is: REALLY shiny, greasy(despite saying non-greasy formula on the bottle) and slick and in the summer, it just wasn't comfortable for me. I felt my hair getting caught on my face because it was so greasy when you start to sweat. For sunscreen to be effect you're suppose to use a healthy dollop, but I was only using a tiny 1/2 pea size. Instead of continuing use I handed this off to my boyfriend and purchased a coppertone sunscreen especially used for faces and its much better, though I plan to eventually just get a moisturizer with built in 30 SPF or greater. Look elsewhere if you need this for your face! If it's for the occasional beach visit, its fine and the high 45 SPF is great though you should go even higher.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer Apr 17, 2008
By Sarah E. Walsh This product lived up to my expectations. It is light and non-greasy. The product has worked well on my acne prone, sensitive skin, by not causing additional problems. The 30 SPF is also preferred over many of the other products which only have 15 SPF. The only complaint I have is that the amount of moisturizer is relatively small. The box that it comes in would imply a larger portion. The box is over twice the size of the bottle of moisturizer, so it is a little misleading. It is worth the price regardless of the small size.

Beware! New formula. Oct 16, 2010

I've been using this Neutrogena product loyally for years. When I got my latest shipment from Amazon, I immdediately noticed they had changed their bottle and that it now had "helioplex" in it. Unfortunately, this product now irritates my skin and turns it red and patchy. I'm disappointed they changed a formula that was perfectly fine to begin with. I'm sorry to say I'm going to have to stop using this product and look for a new day moisturizer with spf.
