Goody's are GREAT! Jul 12, 2010

As a migraine sufferer, I am always on the look out for something to 'take the edge off' until I can get home and take my prescription medication. Goody's Cool Orange Extra Strength powders work FAST because they are in powder form. The three primary components of the extra strength version include acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine. These knock out a headache and dull a migraine better than any other over the counter meds i've tried. I definitely recommend this product. Since it is in a powder, you do 'taste' the product more which is not fantastic. I prefer the Cool Orange flavor over the regular 'non flavored' powders... that little bit of flavor makes a difference. Although this product can be taken 'as is' without anything to drink, I STRONGLY recommend drinking something with this as it makes it go down faster and also allows you to 'rinse' the taste from your mouth. Overall, I think Goody's Cool Orange Extra Strength headache powders work GREAT.

I LOVE these wonderful little powders. I use to get them at the Dollar General but they only came in a 4 pack there. I would clean out their stock every visit. I found that Amazon sells the 24ct in a 3 pack and was thrilled! I can't find them in the drugstores in my area. I keep them everywhere, in the car, in the nightstand, living room, at work, in my purse. They are great for my purse since they are small and flat (like a stick of gum) don't rattle around like pills and they lay flat so I can put them in my credit card slots of my wallet etc. I have completely got rid of my mixed pill bottle I carried around for years with random pills, advil, asprin and mystery pills that are who knows what and most likely expired. For someone who get sick to their stomach when they get a migraine these are PERFECT. I have been prescribed pills but I could never "keep them down" when I had a full blown migraine. I was relying on alka-selzer just to take the edge off and settle my stomach enough to take my pills but with these I don't even need to take my prescription. I have 2 warnings... first, they have caffeine so not great right before bed but I still do it just because they work so well. My other concern is that if you don't completely swallow all the powder it can kinda burn your mouth. I got up in the middle of the night and took one, I was too sleepy to get a drink of water and some power was between my gum line and cheek... I woke up with a rough spot on my cheek, it kinda felt like when you leave a sucker in your cheek too long and it gets rough. A day later my skin actually peeled away!! It didn't hurt but it was gross. I am a little embarrassed to say I kinda like the taste and sometimes I take them just for the caffeine boost in the afternoon when I am at work and its silly to make another pot of coffee just for me at 2pm. I love buying in bulk and its great that amazon sells these in large quantities.

It's so nice to find a product that actually lives up to its claims. For years I've taken analgesics for various aches and pains, most often headaches. I usually find that the ones that help the most are the ones that seem the most 'serious'... the ones that you can't take on an empty stomach, can't take more than 4 per day, etc. This is clearly the placebo effect - the amount of actual relief I experienced from any over-the-counter painkiller, whether it be ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen sodium or a combination of the above, always seemed to be the same. "I guess it's working," I'd say to myself half an hour to an hour after taking it.
With Goody's powder, the relief is PALPABLE. It is so wonderful to put this powder under my tongue and actually feel my head lightening up and cooling down. My boyfriend and I both suffer from chronic headaches, and this is the only thing that has actually shown us that it is working and gotten us back to feeling 100% when those headaches do hit.
The flavor is medicinal of course, but I have to say that the Cool Orange is FAR and away more palatable than the original flavor. I bought a box of the original flavor since it was about 1/10 the cost of the Cool Orange, but I can't even take it. It's the sort of thing that makes you gag, which isn't fun when your mouth is full of powder. The Cool Orange flavor takes a bit of getting used to, but you CAN get used to it, and now it's nothing. I put it under my tongue, let it sit there for 30 seconds or so, and then swish it down with some water.
One thing I do notice is that as fast as the relief comes from this medication, it goes away quickly too. I wouldn't call it long-lasting. I have found that I get the best results from taking a traditional headache medicine tablet like Excedrin at the same time as I take a Goody's in order to get the fast-acting and long-lasting relief.
This is one thing that I am actually going to 'subscribe' to on Amazon, since the improvement that it has made to both my and my boyfriend's quality of life is tangible. Great product, thrilled to have found it.

I'm a big fan of Goody powders for aches and pains because a) they are sublingual (absorbed in the mouth) which means they are fast acting, and b) the fact that it is a powder and not a pill means I don't have to take a full "dose" if I don't feel I need it.
The "cool orange" has a bit of an aftertaste but is great for those of us who don't love the bitter taste of aspirin. In stores I usually either find either the unflavored or the 4-pack so being able to buy the 24 count (AND through subscribe-and-save) means a huge savings. Thanks Amazon!

I have terrible rheumatoid & osteoarthritis in my knees and am 80% cripple. Chronic pain is my MO.I hate taking meds but I have no choice if I want to be mobile at all. I am prescribed Vicodin and it does help.
Because this product has the same main ingredient as Vicodin, I can use it in conjunction between using the prescription meds.
I do not mix Goodys Cool Orange powder with any liquid at all. I tear off the top & empty the pack under my tongue for the fastest relief possible aside from mainlining. BUT be careful NOT to breathe in through your mouth during this process. You will gag & tear up. But the flavor is good and cool too.
