 Old Formula Was Much Better Nov 23, 2011

I have used Clearasil's Oil-Free Daily Cleanser for years. It was perfect; no harsh chemicals and lots of moisturizers without oil. I suffered from terrible acne as a kid, and this was one of the only cleaners that helped.
Now they have gone and changed the formula, putting 2% Salicylic Acid in EVERY cleanser they make. I didn't notice they had changed their formula, since the packaging was identical to the old formula, and I couldn't understand why I was suddenly breaking out all the time.
PLEASE stop putting Salicylic Acid in this product! There are zillions of other products that contain it; this was a gem of a cleanser that is perfect for those with sensitive skin. They also removed Triclosan, an antibacterial that was a unique and effective ingredient in the old formula.
Until they can offer a Salicylic Acid-free formula in their product line, I won't be using Clearasil products anymore.
UPDATE: On Amazon you can usually find packs of 4-5 bottles of the old formula (look for Triclosan as an ingredient). I'd recommend that, as it really was a great face wash when it didn't contain the harsh acid of the new formula.

I used to get some nasty ingrown hairs after shaving before I started using this. I spoke to a couple people who worked at a spa (who do the full treatment -- haircut, shave, etc.) and they both strongly recommended using a facial exfoliator every time before I shave. The way they explained it, most people almost never exfoliate their face, which means the old, dead skin builds up. After shaving the hair down, some hairs may get caught under all the dead skin and form a black head. Thus it's important to exfoliate your face fairly regularly. Instead of buying the expensive facial exfoliators (like they hoped I would), I started using the Clearasil Daily Facial Scrub each time before I shaved. I haven't had a black head from shaving since. I wouldn't recommend using this every day though; that's probably going overboard.
As an extra note, if you're going to use this, make sure to rub it into your face really well. Just dabbing it on there won't do anything.

I've been using this face wash for years. Keeps my face nice and clean, all day, every day. Even though I do NOT have an acne problem, I would highly recommend this product for someone that wants to clear up their skin immediately. You will see a difference after just one use.

The product is the same, but the redesigned sqwirt bottle is terrible. Its difficult to open the angled lid, then the scrub pruduct pours out wasting lots of product. Most scrub containers require you to sqwirt with a little pressure to dispense the amount of scrub you want. This one it pours out and wastes the product.
The design was no doubt put in place so you would have to buy it more often. I eleviated the pouring mess my putting in a generic travel sqwirt bottle I have for travel products. I will not be purchasing this product again...there are others on the market that do the same cleansing, but are in easier to operate dispensers.

so far, the only face soap that actually removes all the oil and dirt and makeup. face feels squeaky clean after washing and microbeads are tiny and theres lots of them which makes exfoliating more effective
