Improvements Could Make This a 5-Star Product Sep 12, 2008

Removing tartar from one's teeth is essential to keeping the gums free of disease. This combination of products is made with that idea in mind, unfortunately, the scaler (scraper), has only one working end, and lacks a sharpening stone. A much better dental instrument is a double-ended scaler, which gives the user more angles to approach tartar.
As any first year dental student will attest to, it is very difficult to look into a mouth mirror and scale tartar, as you are working backwards (the mirror gives and image that is backwards right to left and up and down). So expect there to be a learning curve in using this product.
Dental instruments must be sharp to remove tartar. This instrument will be sharp when it arrives, but after a use or two, it will become dull and will not remove tartar effectively. The kit should have a sharpening stone in with it to hone the edge of the scaler.
Due to these deficienies, this can only be rated a 3-star item at best.

Mirror does not fog much
Cons:
Not sharp tip like dentist has so hard to get between teeth
Have had gray come off on teeth, metal may be too soft
Overall:
Would spend more and get a pick with more dentist like construction.

You have like 2 seconds to see your teeth because it fogs almost instantly...so its just ok
