Great! Worth the extra money. Aug 22, 2008 I absolutely love these highlighters. I too am a doctoral student and I wouldn't use any other highlighter. They have a nice yellow ink, not a neon yellow like some markers. The barrel is easy to hold on to, there is a lot of ink, and it lasts a long time (I had my first one for about 2 years!). Dri-Mark makes erasable highlighters but they are not nearly as good. Dri-Marks highlighters have the neon ink, which I hate, the ink is very faint and runs out quickly. The barrel of the Dri-Mark highlighters are triangular shaped and it hurts to hold them, also they have a pointy tip, not the chisel tip...what's the point in that? Also, a big downside of the Dri-Mark markers is that the cap of the end you're using doesn't fit on the other end, making it easy to lose the cap. The caps of the Ink Tank markers fit snugly in the other end.
The only downside to these highlighters is that they are nearly impossible to find in stores.

It does what it is supposed to do! Mar 05, 2008 My husband and I belong to a choir and use this pen to highlight our parts in our expensive sheet music. When we are finished with a piece, we erase what we highlighted and hand in music that looks almost as good as new. Our director loves us! We would prefer if the marking surface were narrower so that we could be more exact in highlighting only our parts. But highlighters are supposed to cover a large area so I am only being picky.

Great item!! Dec 01, 2007 Great buy. I use this when highlighting music for our chorus. If the director changes his mind, then it can be erased. It will erase old highlighting too. Handy for a multitude of things.
Shipping was fast too.

Great for students & professionals Sep 23, 2007 I'm a doctoral student, so I spend a lot of time with books and highlighters. Ever highlighted something and then realized that it's not important after all? Or fallen asleep over your statistics book and drawn a bright yellow line down the page? If so, then this is the highlighter for you. I've found in particularly handy when I get a little too happy from the highlighter fumes and highlight everything in a paragraph or page; with this highlighter/ eraser, I can go back and be a bit more selective. Like a regular pencil eraser, you can easily get rid of your oops moments. The eraser isn't 100% perfect, but you have to look pretty hard to see the faint line where the higlighting used to be. The eraser usually removes the ink from other brands of highlighters, too.
The only downside that I've found with this brand is that the ink in the highlighter side seems to run out faster than those of my regular Accent highlighters; this may be, however, because I have a dozen of the cheap yellow highlighters and only a few of these eraser highlighters. So I'm never totally sure that I'm using the same cheapo highlighter while I use the eraser highlighter until it is totally dead. Like most other highlighters, you'll end up with black marks on the highlighter tip if you try to highlight over wet ink.
These highlighters are hard to find in regular retail stores and a bit more expensive than regular highlighters, but I love them. I'm going to stock up before I begin my dissertation research! I highly recommend this product.
