I have tried a lot of different razors over the years, and none have matched the life span of the Mach 3 blades nor the results achievable. This is simply one excellent razor that gets pretty close indeed.
The Mach 3 razor is excellent for shaving heads, and provides good results for longer than other blades. Shaving against the lay of the hair gets an excellent and very close shave. With a bit of touching up, the smoothness over the scalp is excellent.
If you are looking for a new razor, this is a good one to choose for a lot of different reasons. It is easy to use, gets good results and is a comfortable razor to use.

I am not willing to compromise quality. The Mach razor provides an excellent quality shave. The triple blade works as advertised contouring the curves of the face. Replacing the blades required one easy push of a button and the new cartridge snaps into place.
Gillette has an excellent brand and market presence, so finding blade cartridges is not a problem. The razor is very safe. I personally have not had a problem with nicks and cuts. The products comes with a fancy handle and fit ergonomically in your hand. I find the Mach razor to be convenience, easy to use, and effective. I love the feel after shaving and the fact I don't notice alot of missed areas shaving. This has been a problem with other razers besides Gillette.
The razor cuts hair stubble effectively with one pass. This is a major selling point in my mind. I can quickly shave and get a clean look, the first time.
