The dark blue/black ink scans well. The pen has a writing width that is a wider than a medium point ballpoint, so it isn't as suitable if you write small. This size writes smoother than the smaller sizes.

I'm in my 40's and have tried a wide array of pens in my lifetime - Uniball Vision Elite is by far one of the best pens I've written with. It's available in both bold and micro ink to suite your handwriting. Ink dries super quickly, does not smudge (unless written over a glossy paper - just needs a few seconds extra to dry), ink barrel has a long life and is REFILLABLE. Refills are available through Amazon too. Point glides smoothly across almost any type of paper and writes in ANY angle. Only con - the lower half of the pen case cracked (after 1 month of average use) where it screws onto the ink barrel, so when I try to pull off the cap, the bottom half pulls off instead and needs to be screwed back on. However, this did not impact its overall function or writing. To be fair, this is my 2nd pen and the previous one did not have any issues. Either way, the Uniball vision elite is a keeper!
